Q & A with Gabby Bernstein!

Q and A with Gabrielle Bernstein, Author of May Cause Miracles

Hello dear ones! I would like to introduce you Gabrielle Bernstein, manifestation guru and author of May Cause Miracles. I first learned of Gabby via Marie Forleo and was impressed with her on Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. She's offering a great deal right now which includes getting a FREE group-coaching course  in December on the topic of manifesting. You can attend the live event in NY, on-line or on the phone.  I'll be there virtually!

Many of you know that I practice manifestation in my own life, and I thought I'd share some insights from Gabby in this interview and video above.  What rings true for me is this- manifestation is a subtle energy and really all you have to do is start seeing yourself where you want to be- which means you have to believe you can have the things you desire. What's important in this process is having the "right" desires, so if you are manifesting for the higher good for you, your family, your community and the universe- you can't go wrong. Enjoy the Q & A!

Q – You are a self-proclaimed manifesting maven. Can you demystify this topic for us?

Gab- We are always manifesting. Each thought we have creates an energy flow within and around our physical being. This energy attracts its likeness. So if you’re thinking, “I suck,” then your energy kinda, well, sucks--and you attract sucky experiences.

The opposite experience occurs when you think high-level thoughts like, “I rock!” When you think and feel, “I rock,” you exude an energy of confidence and in turn attract great experiences into your life. Each thought you have informs your energy, and your energy manifests into your experiences. Your thoughts and energy create your reality.

Q – You talk about manifesting mishaps. Can you tell us more about this.

Gab - Manifestation has become a buzzword lately. Though it’s totally awesome that the Law of Attraction is now trendy, it also can be a bit misleading for folks who are unwilling to do the heavy lifting. If you truly want to use your energetic power to manifest greatness, you must clear all that blocks you from believing in your greatness.

A Course in Miracles teaches that on some level, you’ve asked for everything that happens in your life. Your intentions create your reality. There’s no need to beat yourself up: simply recognizing how your low-level thoughts negatively affect your life is the first powerful step toward changing your experiences. Begin your manifesting process by getting honest about how your low-level thoughts, energy and feelings of disbelief block you from receiving what you desire. Once you get clear about the blocks, you can begin to clean them up to clear space for positive manifestations to occur.

Dealing with "D"

Today I'd like to talk about the "D" word- big, ugly DISAPPOINTMENT. It's an enemy of HOPE, my darling friend. "D" sucks the life out of HOPE and tells her that she's wasting her time b/c "D" won last time, or the last few times.

What the hell am I talking about?

Ok, let me just tell you. I have a girl crush on Marie Forleo and she had a contest to win a spot to her awesome event: RICH, HAPPY and HOT, where 300 savvy and creative women entrepreneurs get together to be inspired, network and party. It's right up my alley, expect for the $2000 fee. But when I found out about her contest to win a spot for free, I was determined to win. I made this video and prayed over it.  I imagined I'd win. I said I'd win. And then... I didn't win. Dis- a-ppoint-ment moves in. Hope despairs. I know,  it's just a contest, but it's not just the contest- it's that when you go for your dreams, you work hard and you HOPE it's all worth it. When those little things you pray for don't come, worry and doubt trickle in and you start to wonder... should I  keep going??

The fact is that giving up is not an option. So, how do you deal with "D" and make her shut the f. up, so you can get back on track? That's what I'm working on today.

Step 1: Go ahead and be disappointed and sad for a short spell, no more than one day though. I gave it half a day today. I was going to starve myself and lay on the couch all day long, but then I got really hungry and about 9am I made cheese toast and bacon with Tea. Starting to feel better...

Step 2: Read something funny. I read Woodbird today about how my friend's little girl screamed at her in the parking lot and called her DISGUSTING- and although it sounds awful, it made me laugh out loud b/c her daughter is an angel, but shit happens and we all get upset sometimes, don't we?

Step 3: Be grateful. It's hard to be grateful when you are disappointed. It's also really hard to be disappointed, sad, or pissed-off when you immerse yourself in gratitude. As soon as you start to say, "thank you for my health, my ability to walk, see, taste, smell... thank  you for my loving family, my home, my passion..." You see? You can't help but start to feel better.

Step 4: Be happy for those who won. What??? Seriously? Yes. I watched all the videos of the winners. I send them blessings. It's hard to imagine, but maybe they needed to win more than me :)

Step 5: Keep up the good work. Dive back in and remember this: for every person that has succeeded, they could each write a long list of why their dream was impossible- but the difference is they didn't linger there and neither will I.

Do you have a story of disappointment and how you overcame it? Do tell.

Sisters. Tribes. Goddesses. MasterMinds. Connect. Support.

Okay, so I have been a "student of manifestation" for about six years now. I don't talk about it much here because I already feel I need to reel it in with my wide focus, but I feel like talking about it today.

About six years ago, one of my dear friends invited me to form a group to focus on how we could all become more prosperous. The group met once a week for lunch and our discussions centered around the book Overcoming Underearning. Being the metaphysical self-help book junky that I am, my initial response was "No thanks, I've read this stuff before. It's fun to read, makes you feel good, but I've heard it all and besides, I'm not sure if I really believe this stuff anyway."

BUT, this was a good friend and a FUNNY friend... someone you want to spend time with and he's also a good facilitator. SO, we started our little group. To make a long story short, I got exactly what I asked for, but it almost cost me my life. I learned this stuff works, but it's powerful, needs to be respected and needs to be almost treated like a science, not something to just dabble in.

Since then, I've read everything out there on the Law of Attraction, Manifesting, and all that jazz. I've been in some long term groups and some short term groups. What I know is that it's ESSENTIAL to be in some kind of group to make magic work. I'm starting to sound cultish, but I'm not. K? Well, maybe a little teensy bit :)

Anyway,  I've been immersing myself in all things Danielle LaPorte and Marie Forleo for a little while now and I just bought this book- Firestarter Sessions . As soon as I read the first page I got chills. As soon as I read the second page I knew I wanted to form a group around this.

Last night I went to bed thinking about how I'd form my group. This morning I woke up and saw this video with Jennifer Louden and Danielle Laporte on how to form your "tribe" around manifesting your dreams. Maybe I'll win a spot in Jennifer Louden's online workshop"Creating Your Own Mastermind Group". Can you tell I'm into e-courses right now?

Here's what I've decided-
If I DO win, I'll start a group around Danielle's Firestarter Sessions.
AND
If I DON'T win I'll still set up a group around Danielle's Firestarter Sessions. So either way, it's on.
